1-Day Quang Binh Tour – Vung Chua Yen Island & Da Nhay
The 1-day Quang Binh tour to Vung Chua Yen Island takes visitors to some of the most iconic landmarks in Quang Binh, a region known for its rich history and natural beauty. The tour is thoughtfully scheduled to offer convenience and flexibility for all travelers.
Tour Itinerary Morning: Vung Chua – Yen Island 8:00 AM: Quynh Travel’s driver and guide will pick you up from Dong Hoi (train station, airport, hotel, etc.).
Travel over 75 km along the legendary North-South road to Vung Chua Yen Island, located in Quang Dong Commune, Quang Trach District, Quang Binh Province. This is the final resting place of General Vo Nguyen Giap, one of Vietnam’s greatest national heroes.
9:30 AM: Offer flowers and incense in respect to the General. Take time to explore and capture beautiful photos at the beach near Yen Island.
10:00 AM: Continue to Deo Ngang, a mountain pass on the border of Quang Binh and Ha Tinh provinces. Deo Ngang is part of the Hoanh Son mountain range, an extension of the Truong Son mountains stretching to the sea. It is a historic pass featured in folklore and literature, notably in the famous poem “Qua Deo Ngang” by Ba Huyen Thanh Quan:
“Stepping to Deo Ngang, the sun is setting,
Grass and trees blend with rocks, flowers among leaves.
Bending under the mountain, a few woodcutters,
Scattered along the river, a few houses and a market.
Remembering my country, my heart aches,
Missing my home, my mouth dry with longing.
Pause to stand, the sky, mountains, and water,
A personal love, just me with myself.”
Take in the scenic beauty and snap some pictures.
Next, proceed to the Liễu Hạnh Princess Temple, one of the “Four Immortal” figures in Vietnamese folklore. This sacred site is one of the most revered places in Quang Binh. Visitors can offer prayers for peace and happiness for their families and loved ones.
Lunch: 12:00 PM: Enjoy a delicious lunch at Da Nhay Beach Restaurant, featuring local cuisine.
Afternoon: Da Nhay Beach – Quang Phu Sand Dunes 1:00 PM: Relax at Da Nhay Beach, swaying in hammocks while gazing at the endless sky and sea. The pristine beach, with its long stretch of white sand and clear blue waters, is perfect for photography. The rocks rising from the sea resemble dancers as the waves crash.
3:30 PM: Visit the Quang Phu Sand Dunes, where the soft white sand is like velvet. Try sandboarding and enjoy various activities here.
4:30 PM: Return to Dong Hoi by bus.
